With all the things occurring in the world lately, nearly all of us are putting in more time in our homes. It can seem difficult to stick with a positive lifestyle when your gym in Ames is closed.
You may have transformed into the principal, home cook, and parent in your house. Perhaps you are working from home now and striving to set up some normalcy in each day.
Through the course of these unpredictable times, it can be tempting to spend more time on the couch, staring at the news and movie after movie, and gradually giving up on a normal workout routine. We may be passing more time at home, but we can always generate ways to continue a healthy routine! Take a look at our preferred useful habits you can work into your current day-to-day routine to be active, help your immune system, and maintain momentum toward attaining your wellness targets.
Start Home Workouts
One positive aspect of spending more time at home is the flexibility in your everyday routine. Go through your day. Where can you squeeze in ten minutes for a short workout? A great exercise session doesn’t need to go on forever to be effective. As long as your heart rate increases, you will get fat and calorie-burning benefits! Check out our 12-minute home fitness class you can do anytime, anywhere!
Include Your Kids in Your Workout
The pools may not be available, but there are still many ways to incorporate fun projects your kiddos will like. After all, remaining active isn’t just for parents! Here are a selection of our preferred fun (and free!) ways your family can get all together:
- Walk the dog
- Take a frisbee out of your house in the sun (hello Vitamin D!)
- Go for a bike ride or roller skate journey
- Form a floral arrangement with your outdoor blossoms
- Play ball in your yard
- Grab your sidewalk chalk and create a driveway masterpiece
- Have a dinner cooking match up
- Crank up the music and have a dance -off
Prepare Healthy Meals
Are you doing your best to stay away from the grocery store? That works! This is the time to innovate in the kitchen and use your family’s canned goods and frozen foods. With the children out of school, busy days at work, and everyday household chores, keep your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners easy during summertime.
At FXB, we make good nutrition easy for our members. Snag your chosen protein type from the freezer, choose a carb for a side, and mix in some healthy fat. And you’re done: a healthy meal with little to no fuss. (And if it’s your fun day, order a pizza and hang at home!)
